Michael's blog on small time life kind of inspired this entry. In his, a man comments on a toy that he had lost in his old home. And so it bespeaks the question, "What was your most memorable toy and whatever happened to it?".
I think mine was the (obviously) the Chatty Kathy dolls that Debbie and I received one Christmas ( mine a brunette, hers a blonde). I think I was five and that was the most "WOW" thing I had ever seen- it was even "high-tech"! I have no idea where they went or what happened to them...not one.
My second most memorable toy was a lime green Hot Wheels El Dorado Cadillac that I received to go with the ubiquitos Hot Wheel tracks one Christmas. During the races I won every time ( that never happened!). I remember Dad trying to wheel and deal me out of it but I finally must have been old enough to know better.
So, what was your most memorable toy ( or two?).
Oh, that Caddy? Well, here it is ;)

I remember the Tonka trucks we used to get when we were quite young. I loved them.
I remember the Skipper doll you got when you were 7 or 8. I think Mom told you that it was medicine - you had some kind of skin condition that year. You were happy to find out it was a doll, not medicine.
Do you remember the ballerina doll that someone got for Christmas - it had a sort of crown that you pulled up and it would piroutte. The darn thing weighed a ton - it was around 18" tall and probably took 4 "D" batteries.
I remember the Chatty Cathy dolls - I think I stripped the string mechanism. That sounds like something I would have done. I never took care of my stuff as well as you did.
I remember mom giving me a black Barbie one year along with a discussion on racial tolerance.
And methinks Dad got the Hot Wheel tracks for himself rather than the daughters...
I remember your Chatty Cathy dolls too, you were so lucky. I think I probably liked my sting-ray bike the most but maybe that doesn't count. Next would have to be my dollhouse furniture, which I saved for years, let my oldest daughter play with it and she broke it all within a couple of weeks. In fairness to her, it was plastic and probably brittle with old age.
